The Tibetan bowl - the musical instrument like a bell which was originated in Tibet and the Himalayas. The sound is elicited by friction of a special stick (the pest or a stick), often it is enveloped in suede, on the edge of a bowl, walls of a tank begin to vibrate and the lingering melodious sound is born. Ancient bowls were made of alloy of five or more metals, in fact different components - tin, nickel, iron, etc. and gold and silver were added to copper. The uniqueness of bowls is that each metal in an alloy composition sounds at own frequency that gives rise to really tremendous sound. The recipe of manufacture of ancient bowls is already lost, but in the Himalayas bowls by manual forging are still made. Besides, it is considered that than older the bowl, the sounding is softer and noble is higher. Are often decorated with ornaments and figures of Hindu and Buddhist subject.
