Ethnic music of Mountain Altai was born from sounds of mountain streams, the roaring falls, chatter of birds and a roar of deers. It is impregnated with life of the wild nature and it is part of it. The most known instrument of course is the Altai Komus (jew's harp). The shaman's tambourine (tungur) - this percussion instrument was also born in the childhood of the mankind. In spite of the fact that it is a musical instrument, besides, it is a cult object, for many people it is a sacred element of many ceremonies. The invariable companion of any Altai equestrian and shepherd - a whip (kamcha). Its biting sounds, the whistle cutting air are music of mountain pastures and steppes.
