There is a set of different types of a cedar: Lebanese, atlassky, Himalaya, but in Altai the so-called pine Siberian cedar (Latin Pinus Sibirica) or the Siberian cedar grows. This tree is sacral for Altaians, many ceremonies and traditions are connected with it. Pine nut is the main food for many inhabitants of the wood, the Altai hunters always used a cedar for arrangement of a lodging for the night, because it has wide branches and fluffy needles. The cedar has a specific sweetish smell therefore in the house made from a cedar always pleasantly smells of a tree.
