The tambourine of the shaman is not only an ancient musical instrument, but also obligatory attribute of sacral practics in Shamanism of the Siberian people and indigenous Americans. Under rhythmical strikes of a beater the shaman falls into a trance and begins the travel to other worlds and realities. The tambourine is made of a goat skin, the feedwell, the handle and a beater from a larch. On inside the cross level is decorated with the multi-colored tapes symbolizing sacral sense of the tool. Similar tapes match in sacred places and are called a dyalama. For many nations the tambourine symbolizes a world outlook and, as a rule, on it the structure of the universe is represented. In the top part stars (the sun and the moon), the Milky Way and also figures of the people holding hands are represented. These figures symbolize spirits assistants of Kam (shaman). The lower part means the lower world and the people inhabiting it, animals (as a rule riders, turtles, snakes, deers, etc. are represented) and spirits of the nature.
